Relocating to Florida
We are considering relocating to Florida and at first we were looking at Naples area and we just came across the Inverness area. If anyone has info on the area. We are a family of 4 and will possibly be renting at first. We are looking for a great area for Children and would have a tech school so I could get a job. I am an Auto Collision Teacher and if anyone has any info on possible teaching jobs, that would be great.
These are the areas in question:
Naples area
Lakeland
Inverness
Ft. Myers
Anywhere else that has a high school level technical school with Auto Body.
Thanx for all help!!!!
PS: My wife is a stay at home mom and we Homeschool our girls. If there are any Homeschool groups on here, hit us with some info.

I am also seriously considering relocating to Inverness. I visited last year and looked at areas from Ft Myers up the gulf coast to Ocala, and really was intrigued with Inverness. The lakes are beautiful, I love the rails to trails, and like the fact that it does not have a "touristy" feel. The "downtown" area was also really quaint. The only negative is the distance to gulf beaches.

CARLOSRS68 we to are planning on moving down to Cape Coral and have 2 kids also. Trying to start a new life where we can finally afford the American dream of owning a home.Currently live in a condo in N.Y. and the kids need a yard and some fresh air.I am very curious about the school system and hope the healthcare is as good as the Dr. I have here. I am checking into SE & SW area. Have you done any research ?

PPC of SWFL has great Pediatrics. They have about 10 docs to choose from and have three different offices to meet your needs. Also, now is the time to buy the FL dream. You can get great deals on houses down here because of all of the foreclosures. I do not know much about the Cape though, I live in Fort Myers. Good Luck.

Realtor
I just found out that I will be able to visit Naples the week of June 15th - 19th and I will need a GOOD realtor. Anyone have a suggestion? I will be looking for a rental to begin with and move into a permanent home once I decide the area I want to live in. I am anticipating moving down sometime in August. Thanx for all your help!

All of you that are looking in the Cape/Ft Myers/Naples might want to try looking a bit farther north in Sarasota county. The school system is excellent here. I attended Sarasota county schools as a child and I have three children in the Sarasota County School system now. Pine View School for the Gifted in Sarasota county was rated the top school in the state and one of the top schools in the Nation.
The average age in Naples is 60 years old. It's a town with many that come from old money. I know that LewLew, a frequent poster on here and a good friend is moving from that area due to the lack of family atmosphere down there.
Just my 2 cents.

Ironically, there are no teaching jobs up north with the career field that I teach. That and since my wife has contacted some families in the Naples area, she located quite a network of homeschooling groups. I am hoping, no offense , that you are wrong about the old money and less young families.
