I live across the way (side exit) from Lely in VeronaWalk. If you've got the bucks, Lely Resort is BEAUTIFUL, amenities top notch, and it's only getting better. I drive through it as often as I can on my way into the shopping part of town just to see the flowers there. Just did that today on the way to bring my dog to the vet, in fact. I drive home through it so I can pass the bronze horses! We passed up a super house in a great section there about 5 years ago for $100,000 less than we paid for our cookie cutter house here 3 years ago and I REALLY regret it big time!!!!!!! It's also a very convenient location as far as getting into gorgeous downtown Naples, Marco Island and the beaches in both places go, by the way. Good luck with your decision.

Opps: I'm editing my post here because I reread your question and I realize I never answered your question--SORRY! Really, you didn't name which Lely you are talking about, which would help enormously. There are several areas, all different according to their age which are considered Lely. There's Old Lely with an area from the 70s (basically off of Saint Andrews Road) and another area built in the 80s (off Augusta Court with condos on Rattlesnake Hammock Road). There's a really old section down near Rattlesnake and 41 which isn't too nice anymore. And, then there's Lely Resort, which is the newest, still building every day there, and that's the one I described in the above paragraph.

We also lived as snowbirds in the part built in the 80s, both in a condo and then a house. Loved that area as well. Even closer to Fifth Avenue, Third Street and the beach. Lots of Publix to chose from, too. It's less expensive than Lely Resort and the houses are older, of course, but it's kept up nicely. The area built in the 70's off Saint Andrews is also a bit less expensive yet, some real deals can be had there right now, but it's still kept up very nicely, too.

And, that's about that, I guess. Again, good luck with your decision and if I can answer any specific questions, just DM me 'cause I might forget to check back here.
