Does anyone know of a deterrent for the evening frogs that always seem to make a mess of your front entryway (man can they crap) and windows every evening ?? I know that having the exterior lights on attracts them to the bugs that are attracted by the lights but come on, someones has to have a home remedy to minimize them ?!?!? I can't even open the windows at night because they get on the screens which I know that the cats are going to ruin with their claws trying to get at them !!! HELP.........

I couldn't take all of their messy droppings and slimy foot prints on my windows any longer either and just stopped putting the exterior lights on at night, except for when I was expecting company.

I know, I liked having the lights on for lots of reasons, but, it did stop them from coming around.

A cat doesn't work because they can hang out high sticking to the wall, above where a cat can reach them. My cat didn't seem to like the taste of them either, when she could catch them, and stopped going after them.

Until someone comes up with something, just keep the exterior lights off most of the time. You'll save on electricity too.

I had one in my toilet last weekend. Must have come up through the pipes. My son discovered it, I'm just thankful it wasn't mom as she would have went ballistic. Sorry this was not helpful, but keep an eye out for frogs in the bowl.

Where exactly do you live anywhere near Costa Rica? Are these tree frogs? Try salt mounds around the gathering area, they really fear salt.

Frogs are common throughout the world. There are over 85 species here in the United States. The most common species include treefrogs, toads and bullfrogs. Treefrogs and bullfrogs are most common where there is adequate water for their survival and reproduction. Toads are more prevalent where it is dry. Though treefrogs are considered beneficial because they eat insects, in some cases local populations can become a nuisance.
If you are looking for more information on treefrogs, follow this link:
TREEFROG CONTROL
If you are looking for more information on bullfrogs, follow this link:
BULLFROG CONTROL
If you are looking for more information on toads, follow this link:
TOAD CONTROL
frogs can become a nuisance around the home. Though not commonly though of as a pest, frog control may be needed when populations are left to grow with no natural predators. If you have a local population on or around your home, choose the frog species link above that's giving you problems and read up on how to get them under control.

We used to live in a condo building and frog poo was always greeting us each morning. We thought that was a problem until bats started congregating in the eves of the outdoor hallways and dropped their poo!!!!!!!!!! ICK, ICK, ICK!!!!!!!!!! (Believe it or not the environmental control people wouldn't get rid of them for us, either. You're not allowed to tamper with bats, evidently.)

You have to contact Bat Man via the Bat phone and get authorization first.

One of the main reasons I asked this question is because I too found a HUGE one in the toilet bowl....a three iron and five flushes took care of him !!! They come in through the vent pipes on the roof.
Also, our exterior lights are only switched on when company is leaving at night...they're never left on !!! Obviously the interior lights are on and that's what's attracting them to the windows....

PS: Thanks for the links Kuota....
