Default Just bought in Cape Coral

Just bought a vacation home in SE. Spent 13K to landscape and paint inside. The house is now empty and we are coming down to furnish it in November. We believe in buying local and will be getting all furnishings and appliances in local stores....also pool, security and lawn service. As more people like us come down, the economy should start to come back....besides,we're old farts and won't be using the schools.

Unfortunately many people who would like to move to FL are unable to sell their current homes. Also many seniors are moving to from FL to their point of origin due to medical care and family caretakers. We visited this winter with the intention of purchasing a snowbird home and although the homes were very reasonable we decided FL wasn't a good fit for us. Good luck!

congrats on your new home i wish you years of happiness, and I'm glad that you are committed to buying local. With the transfer of so many properties in the last year I expect a lot of people will be helping the local economy.

I ALWAYS believe in using local. It pays off in so many ways. And the service is so much better.

Not to rant here, but saving a few cents at Walmart owning hurts each and every one of us, in the long run. Sorry, just had to stick that in.

Congrats!

during the arctic winters in the mountains of new hampshire I'd tell you I bought to someday live year round but the summers are so good up here it fools me every time so for now 2nd home but I'm going back down in a couple weeks to see how unbearable the summer temps are , humidity , bugs etc, when I bought my first house no drywall inspection and I lucked out . I went to look at a 2nd one and was then aware of the chinese drywall thanks to yachtcare and homestager and pulled off some outlets and the copper wiring was black. house was $250k and I'm glad I didn't buy it.

Do not buy in a declining market. Do not trust these attempts of "positive spinning"!
Rent first, then decide BY YOURSELF what to do next. Be careful who is giving you advice. Realtors are everywhere. Smelling money, they follow you even in this forum.

Since the day I arrived in Cape Coral, prices are constantly fallen and everybody wants to leave. Once you live here, you know why. Panic in silence!!
