Thats quite a list. I'd suggest you use the Google map function to see how close to where you want to be each of these are.

I can give you a few.....
Bokeelia, on water, N end Pine Island
St James City, on water, S end of Pine Island
Alva, about 30-40 miles inland NE of Ft Myers
Homosassa, absolutly beautiful place on river and gulf, 35 milesish N of St Pete
Mulberry, deep inland S central state , about 40 miles E of Tampa(great place if you like old cars/trucks)
Williston, deep inland roughly 30 miles NW of Gainesville

Some of the places on that list really arent separate entities, like Punta Rassa, is really just a condo development that straddles the Sanibel causeway and the mouth of the Caloosahatchee river, and Ft Myers Shores is more of a subdivision east of Ft Myers situated on south shore of the river.

I'm over on the east coast now for a couple of months and I miss the sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico. However, the beaches on the Atlantic are also very pretty and, in Vero Beach, they're very clean. I really like the beach parks that are open to the public (free) with changing rooms, bathrooms, outdoor showers and picnic tables. Some have barbecues and a few have vending machines, just in case you forgot to take a beverage along, which is essential in this heat. The water is also very blue and there are often lots of waves, so I guess each coast has its own beautiful characteristics.

Just want to say that this same OP has been on several forums. Same question, same poster. Here's one.

http://www.city-data.com/forum/port-...-question.html

Here's another.

http://www.city-data.com/forum/tampa...-question.html

And another.

http://www.city-data.com/forum/west-...-question.html

Anyone can use Mapquest, Yahoo or Google maps to get the answer.

Just did a search, and there's even the same post by the same person in the Jacksonville, Miami and Ocala forums.
