Default cape coral / lee county school ratings

I don't have any kids in the school system but I know a lot of people have had questions about the school systems.. I don't know what they use for a criteria in deciding. I also realize a lot of people have had kids in the past in certain schools and have had good and bad experiences. because I do have school age children I am interested in potentially towns or parts of towns school systems and have noticed that good schools don't always stay good and bad don't always stay bad, but here is probably some of the most recent grading of schools available. Sadly the one that is closest to my house down there scored a C

by the way I also understand that a school can have good teachers and not so good teachers and even in a particular grade you could have two 2nd grade teachers that are worlds apart in their abilities and committments.. I really like my son's kindergarten teacher but one of his playmates parents can't stand her. over the year my son has learned to read and write and her child can barely count past 15.

I am not wild about school ratings, anywhere in this country. I just don't trust them. And the school (not yours, I'm talking in generalizations throughout the US) could be in a bad area, where there is no parental involvement for most of the students, so the scores are low. Could be some of the best teachers, though.

Our daughter went to Rayma C. Page, when it first opened. First of all, it was major chaos, the principal looked like she didn't have a clue what to do, and the teacher was very young and thrown into a class where half the kids only spoke Spanish. Our daughter was bringing home ALL her classwork. Not once, in six weeks, did I see classwork that was done at school.

It was a mess.

I wouldn't totally freak out about the scores.

Also, you wouldn't believe how many parents buy houses without even checking out the schools. It seems like it's especially in Florida where they are blinded by the sunshine and assume that the school will be just as good as up north, or not that bad.

Rayma C. Page could have improved a lot in four years. I sure hope so.
