State jobs in Lee County
Hello!
I currently live in Vermont and work for the state and I am wondering what the opportunities for state employment are in Lee County. I have looked at a few of the government job wesites and I must admit I am pretty discouraged at the outlook....but I am wondering if anyone has any experience with this. Any insight into state employment or "good paying" employment for someone with an Associates degree in Human Services would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

try a search for locale newspapers -online- (by county or city) and check out the classifieds & job sections. Generaly speaking, government wages haven't kept with the increasing cost of life.
Best of luck.

That's going to be tough. When I lived in Lee County, I looked for county and state jobs, but since I have experience working with the public I couldn't get a job. For those jobs you HAVE to be bilingual.

try my fl.com and dept corrections or forestry or dept children and families ,but ask if any of them plan to outsource first.state is going through changes and they will use you sometimes. i think fed employment is the best way for you to turn your direction!

Many resources are available online, take time to research and should help you to attain a job. As a last resource use Kelly Services, Quantum, Manpower, and other HR agencies. Again the main idea is to get in and move up, this has work for many including myself. The best resource is your friends or other associates that can provide feedback to the employer, benchmark your skills....

Hi Mary, I live in Florida and also have worked for Lee County for almost 6 years. The money is ok and the bennies aren,t the best i,ve had but it,s a living. I am waiting for prices to go back up so I can move back up north. I can,t handle the uv rays. This wasn,t bad 8 yrs ago but now there is a lot of crime and it takes a lot of getting used to. If you got your heart set on moving here, it is a good time to buy a house here. Definately a buyers market. Actually, I have a nice home in a nice neighborhood i,ll give you a good price on.
