Default Lee County-Second-Largest Drop in Population in FL

How long have we heard that Lee County is gaining people? That they are coming in droves?

Meanwhile, houses are abandoned everywhere. Try renting a U-Haul to almost anywhere else and it will be more expensive to leave than move in.

No. Lee County is not gaining population.

It has the second-largest drop in population in Florida.

Florida’s population drops - South Florida Business Journal:

Florida, by the way, lost population for the first time since the end of World War II.

Florida's population shrinks amid economic storm - Yahoo! News

For anyone that doesn't seem to be getting the message, I will add this quote:

"In February, US President Barack Obama selected Fort Myers, Florida, the epicenter of the mortgage foreclosure crisis, to highlight his government's response."

For telling the truth?

I've had it with the investors on here throwing stuff around that isn't true. You know darn well that people are leaving. Everyone does. It's been national news for well over a year.

Well, woot there it is.

You are 150% right I agree all the way. I HAVE BEEN HERE TO WATCH THE PLACE DECLINE. But watch the retaliation you will get for this thread, Mr Peterson will be ripping us on this one, he is thier leader.... The way I see it is... Let the naive(having or showing unaffected simplicity of nature or absence of artificiality; unsophisticated; ingenuous. Also uninformed; having no experiencecome down, they will figure out themselves.

TX here I come.

Well, for a place that has the 3rd highest foreclousre rate in the country, AND the highest unemployment rate in Florida, why WOULDN'T population drop? You cannot count all those speculators buying up the real estate, as mentioned on CNN.

But of course the real estate agents will paint a rosy picture. All us baby boomers will be beating down Florida's door to live here. Yeah, right. Wanna buy a bridge?

Yeah, my Uhaul is about $1600 to Abilene TX from here, whereas if you were to reverse route it is $1057..... Go figure.

Proof? go to Uhaul.com Enter 33916 to the pickup location, then 79601 to the dropoff, $1607.00 Reverse it, and you get $1027..... Gee why is that I wonder?
