Quickest route to 95 north
Okay... what is the quickest way to get from south west Lee County to 95 north? I have tried cutting across the state thru Orlando & winding around 301. What method do you recommend?

We take rt 80..Palm beach blvd to rt 29 in Labelle then north on 27 to rt 4
Rt 4 straight to Daytona and rt 95
We've tried every way there is and like this the best....nice farm country, traffic moves along well but there are some small towns and lights to deal with. It's the most direct route.

We do the same thing EXCEPT pick up 78 in Moore Haven then straight to 70. Shoots right across to I-95. Not much population. No traffic. Don't have to go through so many towns. We've done it many, many times.

As usual, Hik has it right.
While 27 isnt a bad way to go, getting right over to 95 is the best option. I always avoid I 4 at almost any cost, unless I can time my passage between 3-6 a.m. It's always a mess with construction, and traffic at just about any time of day.

Hubby and I make the trip to TN/NC border frequently. Although the I-75 to I-10 to I-95 route is the least popular and the stretch north of Tampa is like a PROLONGED root canal without drugs, we still find it's quickest for us. We gave the 301 jog a shot once. Never again. Brutal revenue generating speed traps in Waldo and Lawtey. We would probably use hiknapster's route but we are a little too far north.

Just FYI, you can pick up SR 70 right off of I 75 as you head north. It's exit 217A just around Bradenton.
SR 60 is a nice quiet route also, it takes you off I 75 just at the mid part of Tampa, before you get to the I 4 exit. Always seem to see alot of old classic cars and trucks when I go that route. Especially around the town of Mulberry.

Wow!
Google shows this to cut almost 2 hours off our usual l-10/301/ l-75 route(started from Kingsland,Ga).
Can that be right?
Would our trip be complete if we missed seeing the speed trap signs in Waldo and Lawtey
Edited to say that time was backwards.....looks like it adds about 1 1/2 hours.

I do the same route, but sometimes take 60 East to Fort Pierce/Vero beach. You end up right at 95 there too.
