According to you: Best place for young family....
to live and why? It could be any state. I am very curious to hear what people consider a great place to raise a family and why. I know everyone has their own opinons.
I am ok with where we live right now but like many others, wonder what is on the other side of the fence.
Thanks to anyone who replies
Have a beautiful day!!!

I was born and raised in Michigan, so I can only speak for raising a family here (even though we will be raising our son in FL). The Grand Rapids area is fantastic with tons of things to do for kids and adults (restaurants, museums, zoo's, parks, shopping, culture, etc...) Great schools are East Grand Rapids, Grandville, Forrest Hills, Rockford, and Byron Center. Also, on the Lake Michigan shoreline are the communities of Grand Haven and Spring Lake, which are gorgeous in all four seasons, but the lake-effect snow machine can dump a lot of the white stuff between November and March :-)

It's pretty redundant for me to write this, but Knoxville, TN. Sorry, guys. Everyone is sick of reading it.
I've lived in Mass. for 34 years, and in Florida for ten. When our daughter hit kindergarten in Lee County, FL, we yanked her out and moved. Fortunately, I had done about a year of research and Knoxville hit all the numbers.
The schools are very good, the area is family-orientated, we are right near the Great Smoky Mountains, the cost of living is excellent and the people are kind, friendly and caring. We've been here four years and we love it.

Might be a no brainer, but here goes....In this particular time of economic distress, I'd say anyone, young, old, with or without children to care for is best off being near their support system of close friends, family, and or a very stable, and reliable source of income. Regardless of what the weather is like, or how much you may think the grass is greener in some other place.........

If I won the lottery, somewhere where we would get 4 seasons; excellent schools & hospitals, and all my family lived within an hour.
We were military for some time & when my dh was deployed and my son was 7 months old, he got incredibly ill. My family was 1300 miles away. I was in the ER at 3am waiting for a spinal tap on a 7 month old and not being able to get a signal on my cell phone to talk to my mom. It took 2 days to get in contact with my dh. That & some other experiences quickly taught me the value of family. Not everyone wants to be nearby family. We do. Thus, proximity to family is the most important. It trumps weather.
I would love to buy some land in Kentucky, homeschool my children, and just enjoy.
I hope to never have to live in areas such as TX, FL or GA ever again. Not my thing. I also have no desire to live in upper Michigan or Wisconsin due to the silly cold.
We love being able to show our kids the four seasons. Picking up my son from preschool today, they were outside looking at the gorgeous fall leaves and he talked nonstop the way home about why leaves change colors. They swim in the summer and play in the snow in the winter. Well-rounded.
I always wonder too. Also, been there done that with moving every few years. I don't like endless heat nor do I like endless cold. Thus, we really like where we are now b/c we are close to family, AWESOME schools and neighbors, and decent weather. COL is manageable. No desire to move anytime soon unless we could move to Germany or Korea for a few years.

Hands down I would say Lubbock, Texas. I grew up there and yearn for it daily.
