Any runners?
I originally planned on training for the US Marine Corps Marathon in Washington D.C. in October of 2010. However, if all goes according to plan, I'll be about three months pregnant then and running 26.2 miles doesn't sound at all appealing (not to mention I'm pretty sure my OB would advise against it). So, I am putting off my marathon dreams and plan to run as many 5Ks, 10Ks, and half-marathons as I can until we start TTC in August of 2010.
Are any of you runners? If so, what (if any) races do you plan to compete in over the next year?
I am looking forward to the Turkey Trot (a gimme), Rivers, Roots, and Ruts, and the Hooters Half (really... what's better than beer and wings after 13 miles?).

I'm not a runner but I want to say congrats on the pregnancy! That's fabulous! And you sound like such a fit person. It is very admirable! There must be a way to meet other runners. What about at your gym?

In reference to being very fit... I'm getting there! I was in top-notch shape before I got pregnant with my first daughter and rebounded pretty quickly with her despite having a cesarean and gaining 70 lbs thanks to preeclampsia. My second pregnancy took a toll on my body as did the second cesarean, not to mention I don't have nearly as much time to work out these days! So, I'm working on it! I find that setting these goals really keeps me going!
I have a few friends that are runners but they are at a level far above me (in fact, my friend just ran the Chicago marathon this past wknd) so I feel like I'm dragging them down a bit if we train together! Anyways - I was mostly just wondering if there was some cool race or something I might be missing out on!

I don't run
aside from the exercised-induced asthma, I prefer to only be in a hurry a small number of times:
Liquor store closing
Buffet line
Protecting the Famn Damily
Open bar shutting down
Running is for cops, and thugs lol

I like to run when I can. I usually only do 3 or 4 miles though. I get shin splints pretty bad.

I do too, Chicken. I generally take about 4 ibuprofen if I know I'll be doing more than 3 miles.
