although I am student of this subject, the further inland you go, the easier it gets, I believe.

We need to know your target zone for cash purchase or monthly carrying cost to advise.

land is cheap to buy, renting is even cheaper. Lots of traps to figure out

If you are coming to town with a medium sized bag of cash, or a secure job, there are lots of possibilities, especially if you are not hankering for beachfront or canal

they say public schools can be scary in SWF...so don't short cut that part or make assumptions

sorry for making a fuss about the white neighbourhood thing...I was just trying to save you aggravation

No Problem, thanks for the advice, I do have a secure job. I am looking to rent for now. Don't need canal or beachfront. Would like nice 3/4 bedrooms, garage, rural would be nice. Small town feel if we can find it. Have about $1,500/month to spend on rent + utilities.

You'll probably have to travel east to Buckingham or Alva.

I think you need to use a DM. This might be in violation of the City-Data TOS which is why I've written in other posts "I cannot post links to real estate sites." You are advertising for a real estate company for free by posting this link. Mistakenly I've posted a few links without knowing I was breaking the rules. Anyway, I'm not a moderator, but you might want to run this by Frank or whoever keeps a watchful eye on us. Maybe the Craig'sList ad would have been acceptable.

Kroeran, let me get this straight. You and are responding to someone asking for a safe, low crime, "predominantly White" area of SWFL and are recommending a house in Lehigh Acres?

just provided a few links to introduce OP to what sort of thing is on craigslist to get his juices going. Its up to you and other locals to provide further value-adding comments, as you have helpfully done.

I also find map-based mls websites to be a particularly powerful tool, and have provided that for his benefit, and did it in forum rather than as a PM so that others might benefit.

The OP will have used it before Frank gets around to pulling it, though I would be surprised if he were to do so as it is obvious that I am not connected to that particular company.

I had neighbors in Bonita Springs who parked commercial vehicles. I lived there for over 13 years and nobody complained. However, I'm sure there are limits.
