Publix hires 15-year-olds. It's a great place for teens to work. As far as I know, it is one of the few, if only, places that will hire that age group. Remember when kids could make cash being paper girls and boys?
My first job was delivering the LONG ISLAND PRESS which is now long gone and my parents had not to worry about strangers and weirdos. I am sure they where there but not as publiched as today. ( swines )

I wish they were too been looking for Tarpon but skunked that last few times, pleanty of small blacktip sharks though.

He will put in another application but seems to be they hire old timers first, which I can't blame them..they show up...LOL, but I still feel bad cause he is so limited by age. I know he would show, especially with Dad giving him the boot...

Firemed......nevermind get a life. and take it some where else.

ha! id love to see this.

those who say its not the responsibility of the city to entertain youth are right

but that attitude is what leads to bored kids breaking into houses for liquor and being forced into hanging out in front of mcdonalds because theres nothing else to do on a friday night.

if downtown cape would have an actual place for young people to be thatd be wonderful. mostly because its one of the extremely few places in southwest florida where you can actually walk around. even if it is only 5 blocks long.

theres NOTHING for youth to do in cape coral right now which is why on any friday night youll see a gigantic concentration of young people at the movies in coralwood and at the mcdonalds across from cape high.

but im not holdin my breath for this...

Default Nothing For Kids? Cmon!

My grandson has been going to the summer camp put on by the parks and recreation dept. for the last 2 years, and he loves it. Last week he went to Sun Splash the local, water park, bowling at the local bowling alley, swimming at the yacht club pool, and other activities all week. Monday they go skating. The program is relatively inexpensive for residents, and provides activities for all school age children, in a safe environment, and also provides summer jobs for local teens as counselors. The city offers many many classes and activitie for children and thier parents. That is one of the main reasons we moved here, and we haven't been disappointed.
