Default What would you like to see in downtown Fort Wayne?

Now that Harrison Square is nearing completion, what new development or attraction would you like to see in downtown Fort Wayne? A museum, more riverfront actives, new restaurants or hotels, more unique housing options, additional parkland, a large scale fountain or statue, a new festival????? Tell us you thoughts and ideas!

Fort Wayne definitely needs to invest in a riverwalk area. South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart, and even Goshen are starting to notice that benefits of beautifying this natural area. It would greatly enhance the downtown.

I think an entertainment complex could actually work somewhere in downtown Fort Wayne. The only area I actually have in mind would be Clinton and Superior. I'd like to see a combination movie theater and department store with other small retail stores and restaurants in it. I know it's dreaming big, but I could actually see something like this working with all of the retail and restaurants on the lower level and a movie theater upstairs.

Ford Wayne needs to support middle-class/upscale high density living in the downtown area. Bring people into the downtown area to live, work, and play. People that will take pride in the area and invest in it! Promoting the affordability to OWN in the city CORE should also be a priority

The city should also promote modern architecture to be built to mix in with the more traditional architecture that already exists. The new Anthony Wayne Building Condos are a great start!

A department store such as Macy's or JCPenney in a prominent location would be good!

Most importantly, downtown needs to be a place where the young professional crowd can be attracted to. These are the people that populate cities and help them thrive! Upscale bars/clubs and restaurants should be there!

I feel something unique to the market like Whole Foods or Trader Joe's definitely could.

I love the idea of modern architecture, which would really make the city standout in the Midwest. I really hope the Anthony Wayne Condos succeed. All as it takes is one investment to get the ball rolling, and other investors will come forward after they see success.

Or how about a mall downtown like Circle Centre downtown Indianapolis. Or how about a movie theater since the ones we do have are clear cross town.
