Hi
I planted a row of 10 arborvitae trees along the side of my backyard as hedge fence to separate my house from a walking trail hoping to get some privacy as people always jog on that trail,I realized after planting that I am one foot outside my property line ,there is about 18 feet between my property line and the walking trail .
This is not encrouching on my neighbor`s property ,it s on the city property
what to expect ?

If the city doesn't know about it, expect nothing. You can expect that the city has the right to remove them though. If you planted them very recently, I would dig them up and replant.

Agree with rrah. Most likely, nothing will happen. But if the city decides it doesn't like them, they can and will cut them down without permission from you.

I would just dig them up and replant, better to do that then have to worry that someone else might do it some time down the road.
