Well I'm not saying that there are no kids that like Fort Wayne. I'm just saying the majority of my friends and myself would have rather lived somewhere else when we were growing up. I moved away to Indianapolis when I was in High School and I always wanted to move back, but not because I liked Fort Wayne. I only wanted to go back because I missed my friends and my school. Whenever someone would ask me if I liked Indianapolis better, I would say I miss my old school, but I don't miss Fort Wayne.

I guess when I think of West Central, I think of kids playing at that Christian school of Jefferson, wakling through Moody Park, taking my dogs for walks in the abandoned GE parking lot, as well as the rest of the great walker and bike-friendly ways. To me, West Central is every bit as family centered as the upper middle class neighborhoods of Chicago such as Lincoln Park and Beverly on the southside. I do believe that Southwood is very family centered, though you and I seem to be in the minority on these boards on that one.
You didn't seem snide, just open minded I run the risk of sounding snooty, but I don't mean to be! As someone who has moved from IN to AZ, I really appreciate how difficult it can be to get area preference info. No one wants to offend, and realtors cannot risk "steering". I have a friend who lives in the area near GE and so I have heard that she loves her home, Moody Park, and I have heard her trick or treat stories- more tricks than treats! I maintain if you can afford Southwood Park its a better family area.
