FW is the fastest growing city in the USA (Dallas: restaurants, shop)

A friend sent me this CNN article that lists the fastest growing cities in the USA. Fort Worth led the way for cities with a min. of 500k population size.

Hopefully this rapid growth won't continue much longer, otherwise it'll lead to infrastructure problems here.

Uh.....

I always wonder what the numbers would say if all of the non English speaking were to be counted on the census as well. Then again, maybe that's why the growth is so high already....?

I still remember when you could drive on I-30 from Fort Worth to Dallas and it seemed like a drive in the country, now it's all city all the way.

I heard that Fort Worth is supposed to double in the next 7 years. I don't know if that is true or not but that is what I heard.
We are in Granbury and lots of people are moving here. We just sold one of our waterfront lots to a nice couple from Oklahoma. This whole area is growing. It has really helped the Granbury Historical Square and all the businesses in our area. We are getting more restaurants and shopping too. Lots of beautification is also being done to our area along the roads (it needed it badly!) We also just got a newly (fixed up) beach park and new city boat ramp which was needed and they are really nice.

There's no way FW will double in size over the next 7 years. Heck, it added just 20% in the 6-yr. period from 2000 to 2006, which still made it the fastest growing city in the US.

That said, I don't see why FW won't grow another 20-25% over the next 6-7 years, which is still tremendous growth, esp. for a large (top 20), established city.
