And you can add www.weatherbug.com to your computer for free. Ther paid version is only about $20/yr. The icon in the bottom tray flashes red for severe weather alerts. You can pick the closest station to where you live. It's the same monitoring stations that the Weather Service and TV stations use for data.

I don't have my computer on all that much. I think they need tornado sirens here. Be a good idea!

I think Weatherford is simply too sprawling for sirens to be effective........a great option is to get a weather radio (battery operated, of course). And for the Code Red program, you have to be in the city limits.

i currently live in IN (relocating summer 2012 to weatherford) and we have those darn sirens go off when the wind is strong or whatever....scares the begeezus outta me!! but jsut because the sirens go off doesn't mean there's a tornado, just that there's severe weather.

anyway, i have a great function on my smart phone that alerts me of any area warnings. plus, if i know there's bad weather coming, i'm constantly on wrtv/wish channel looking at the weathre...checking the weather cahnnel or my phone....lol....i DO like to know what's ocming if possible, but i don't wanna hear that siren. so, for me....yay for no sirens....lol
