Default CORRECTION: Nn SOBs in Azle and other info

[quote=Guingirl;981775]From my opinion and from what my experience is that Keller is more developed, more traditional housing, tracts and higher end homes. Azle, while it is developing, tends to have more mobile homes and double wides. Azle does fall into a SOB (sexually oriented businesses) so you will find more adult type stores than you will ever see in Keller.

As a lifetime resident of Azle (most of my 56 yrs) and the former Mayor I would like to inform the reader that the above posting is incorrect. There are NO sexually oriented businesses in Azle. The are restricted by ordinance to the interior of industrial zones which is very limiting. There are no SOBs. There are 2 between Lake Worth and Azle.

Azle is a great little town and a wonderful community. There are some mobile home communities in the unincorporated county but only a very few in the Azle city limits. If you want to get a feel for the community visit the city site (Azle, TX - Official Website) and the Azle News site (Azle News-Your Hometown Newspaper and Website in Azle, Texas).

Have a good day.

We drove out from Lake Worth out to Azle (also it doesn't seem quite as convenient, but that could just be me not knowing all the streets) and there were probably five different SOBs on the way out to Azle proper.

The areas are also very driven by the particular ISDs here. While Keller ISD is going through a lot of challenges and changes, it is still highly ranked in the area.

Again, I have only been here for six months, so this is just my opinion. I am sure that others will speak up.
I think there is only 3 SOBs as you call them- a book store-a movie store and a "toy store" wich is a pretty neat place! Ive been in azle nearly a year now and it is a nice quite area. And the drive to lake worth is about 10 mins going down 199- not to bad a drive to get to alot of different restraunts and stores that are not in Azle.

I am an Expat planning on moving back to the States and after alot of searching, I am looking at Azle as a likely place to call home after first looking into Keller.

I like the fact Azle has a lake, a park and wooded areas, that there is all kind of housing, older homes, new houses, land for sale, not much rental apartments I like a small town. removed from the urban center with hopefully a character of it's own. And finally I'd like to try a taste of Texas hospitality!

I am coming to Azle in the next few weeks to see if I like the area. I want to see some houses, visit the surroundings, get a feel for the place, shopping, distances etc.

I would really appreciate any Azle residents comments on what I should check out, what you think is special?
How is it for small business retail in Azle?
