I will be in Fort Worth in a few weeks to go to the Convention Center. I am wondering what there is to do in the area somewhat close to the convention center. I will not have a lot of time but I would like to explore a few places.

Lots of stuff to do in Downtown (Sundance square and stuff). Stockyards isn't far north either.

To add to what drjones96 said there are also the Water gardens and the Botanic gardens.

museums have some nice exhibits now--especially the Kimball--they are very far == just across the bridge really

the Kimball has a nice exhibit now about faces/portraits--just across the Trinity and down university--not too far..probably could take buses but I don't know the numbers/routes....
