I don't know of anything--they were worse at my other house--
here in Hurst we have them but they have not been as persistant about coming in

you might try diatomaceous earth which pest control people use around houses and in attics--
it is non-toxic to pets and people but for some insects it destroys their cartilidge

I think these geckos have a bad taste and that in the past my dog and cat might have tried to eat them and thrown up
now I think they leave them alone--

When we picked up our two large storage units of furniture/stuff from a place in Burnet, there were dozens of these which made the trip up here. Even three weeks later, they were wandering out of hiding.

Granted, said stuff was in the storage units for 4+ years, but still, they found a comfy, quiet home.

Unless you hermetically seal a house, you can't really keep anything this small, out. An exterminator might help, though they may not have anything which kills these.

Personally, I'm glad to have them about...even saw one scurrying around, Monday, though I wish the cats would leave them be.

Although cat entertainment can be priceless.

I'll take these over roaches/waterbugs any day of the week!

Aww, I love the little geckos! So cute! Only see them during summer time. I've seen green and brown ones. I like the green ones better.

This wasn't a very helpful post.

I'm not a bug/creepy crawly person at all, but those little lizards are about as cute as they come! They're completely harmless. We find them in our garage during most of the summer and while they're fast, having one in your house wouldn't be the end of the world. They eat bugs and will keep the place a little cleaner where the little creepy crawlies are concerned.

Geckos are sweet, much better than roaches, scorpions, or ants. Ugh! I get so irritated when one of my dogs kills them.

These things are freaking me out!!! Any ideas on how to get them to stay away? Will Mothballs work? Thanks!

Very cute lizards! We have a group of super HUGE frogs that live in our garage. No lil lizards yet, though.

My dog likes to play with the frogs, she likes it when they hop. Never hurts them, she's really very nice to them and will even pick one up and move it where she wants it to be.

HELLLOOOOOOOO I am NEW to San Antonio and want to thank you all for the info! YAY!
I have been calling them salamanders! HA! I found a little tiny one (Under an inch) in my entry way. I shoo em out and then a few days later there he is again. Soooo cute ! I tried to push one out and he acted like I injured his arm then he started running! hahaha! I now have 2 that are like yours' practically permanent residents and practically pets! I absolutely think they are adorable. They look like plastic and are orangey-green. Does that make sense? They have little suction cup feet. Soooo cute! They also hang out like yours by where the light shines at nite --- so Im guessing where the bugs are attracted. My son says they have one that LIVES in their mailbox !! I tell you - these guys all must have the same thought patterns! Sooo thank you and I will maybe start naming em. I also have a lizard - and more fun little critters and beautiful cardinals and bluebirds. I love that part of moving here. I love animals and so on - so this has been a treat. Have a good night and God bless !

They are geckos. They are very prominent in Texas and come in every color from black to blue. They are in the city and the country. They are no harm to anything or anyone. Let them eat bugs and be happy.
