So I am moving from Florida to Texas. I'm considering Denton. Google tells me it will be a 45 minute drive to my job in downtown Ft. Worth. In reality, will this be a decision I regret? As for the MBA, I already have a masters degree and a great career. The MBA would compliment my other degree, which is why I'm not looking at TCU or SMU. I would prefer not to get deeper in debt.

I'm on an iPhone. Sorry for the brief introduction.

that is NOT a drive you want to make on daily basis--I35 is one of worst freeways out there

there are MBA programs available through state schools that are at off-site locations closer to FTW proper
you need to check out places beside UNT
you are going to be paying at highest rate for any state school--
so find one that has offsite closer than Denton

I agree with loves2read -- that would be an AWFUL commute.

UTA has a good MBA program and it's much closer (Arlington for the "full time," and I believe they provide courses at the Santa Fe location).

Yes, they do. UTA's MBA program has a great reputation, too! I would casually say it is better than UNT's program...

I don't know what I was thinking before. UTA is a much more logical choice. Thanks! I will probably wait 1 year before entering the program in order to qualify for in-state tuition. As much as I'd like to delve into it, that's a much smarter choice I guess.

Back to the immediate issue. Where would be good place to live in Ft. Worth for a single, 25-year old male. I like the nightlife, live music and bar scene. Any suggestions?

Downtown Fort Worth or the So7 area have what you are looking for.

So7 is literally 1 mile from where I would be working. Thanks for the lead.

just be prepared to pay for the priviledge of living in those two "hot" areas--
there would be areas that are likely to be less expensive--but more of a commute

UT-Austin and UT Dallas have MBA programs that are in Dallas downtown area. State tuition...cheap! Often done on the weekend and the night. Same distance from Ft Worth to Denton. That Ft Worth is to Dallas. Live in mid cities between school and work. Both programs are better than UNT.

Try North Irving. Depends on where in Ft Worth. If work is near Southlake or DFW airport, I would live in Uptown Dallas for a hip place. 15 min and school is closer.

The OP has already stated that work is in DT FW.
