my son went to turner falls with his fiance and her family a couple of times--pretty area even in the fall -- they went after thanksgiving...

Some coworkers and I drove up to Tahlequah, OK in late May/early June to go canoeing and kayaking. In early Sept., we're going to go the other direction toward San Antonio (New Braunfels) to go tubing. Each is a 4-5 hr. drive from FW.

I wanted to add that in Granbury there is a place you can rent Jet Ski's. There is also the Riverboat which you can go on a dinner cruise or a Sunday brunch cruise.
