Question Book / Reading Clubs in Keller or Surrounding Cities?

Greetings!

My husband and I moved to Keller a few months ago, and I am wondering if anyone knows of any book clubs / reading clubs that meet up in Keller (or surrounding cities -- Southlake, Westlake, Watauga, Colleyville, etc.)?

I tried to do some internet searches, but all I'm coming up with is meet ups in the Dallas area.

Can anyone help? Thanks so much!

I know the city of ftw has major book read at times but don't know how they schedule any book club meetings--also the book stores like Barnes and Nobles or B Dalton to see if they have any book clubs...you might also check the TCU web site for their extended learning classes that start right about now--we got a catalogue and I thin there was something like a book club there...

I know teachers in my former district have book club--are you working?

found this web site for club in Euless--that is maybe not too far from you in Keller--just depends, I guess

Novel Ideas (Euless, TX) - Meetup.com

and there is one is at the Bedford City Library--Bookworms is name of club but it is for adults--they are reading the new charles frazier book 13 Moons
from information on the library web site--next meeting Sept 20 (Thursday) between 12 and 130 in the Library Board Room at library off Forest Ridge Rd in Bedford....817-952-2342 adult info desk

looks like Hurst City Library has a Literary Showcase (book club) Aug 2 at 7 pm from the August Calendar--they did The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks--so guess yu could call there and find out more info (817) 788-7300

North Richland Hills Library off Loop 820 has one as well--this is their web link
NRHPL Adult Services
they meet in one afternoon a month as well...

From Colleyville library:
9/13/2007 11:00 a.m.
Books 'n' Brunch
Join us at the library to discuss current books. We provide the food, you provide the discussion! Please contact Erica at 817-503-1155 for the current book. No registration required.

this is the link for the Fort Worth Library which has a variety of sites offering book groups--some are evening groups and some meet during the day...guess it depends somewhat on the local population--

Default Thanks!

Loves2Read, thank you for your prompt response! I realize now that I probably should've put more details in my initial post

I am looking for an adult book / reading club that takes place either in the evenings or on the weekends, as I work full-time M - F and get home about 6p or thereafter. Also, my husband are not only a few months new to Keller, we are 7 months new to Texas (we moved from New England), hence the reason I listed the surrounding areas that I am familiar with

Not only do I absolutely love to read, I feel this would be a great way to get to know people in the communities as well. I do appreciate your help, and I am open to any and all other suggestions.

P.S. Thanks for the recommendation on checking w/ the bookstores; will do!

Default book club

Hello grlpisces,
While I'm not new to Texas, I am new to Keller. We moved here 8 months ago from Houston. I to am very interested in either a day or evening book club in the area. If we are unable to find one, would you consider starting one?

If you go to Welcome to the City of Watauga you will see there is a book club at the library. Their next meeting is March 27. I'm going to try and go. Maybe I'll see you there.

You might try looking at your own city library. Keller has two book discussion groups, one daytime, one evening. http://www.kellerlib.org/newsletter.pdf

Also, since you love reading, try joining the Friends of Keller Public Library. You'll get to meet other people with your interest and help support the library.

Yes, check your local library. They will almost always have the information you're looking for. Good luck!
