not wanting to sound smart-aleck, but what do you think???
OF COURSE there are bugs. i killed a mosquito or three in january. our climate sometimes does not have a hard enough freeze to kill them off as happens in the north. lots of bugs... though i don't really notice them. hope that helps ![]() |

It's funny how heat, humidity, bugs and tornadoes seem to be atop the list of questions asked by those relocating. Even more often than property taxes! It's almost as comical as the one I see often on the Florida board...Hurricanes! Seriously, people, there are 30 Million + people living in TX, don't you think they'd all be making for the hills if tornadoes were such a bother and living in bubbles all day if heat, humidity and bugs were a concern?

I am from California, paradise compared to Texas. This freaking place is full of bugs! I live in Fort Worth, near the Aliance airport. If you have a phobia about bugs do not move to Texas. I have never in my life seen so many spiders (huge wolf spiders), fire ants, crickets, and in early summer the **** June bugs. I get bit by ants a few times a week. If I could afford to live in California I would be back there in a heart beat.

Hmmm, then I guess you mean that California doesn't have any bugs? Interesting.
If you're getting bit by ants that often, maybe you should be more careful about where you're walking ![]() |

They are attracted to the sugar. Put the coke up and you won't have a bee flying around ya. Treat your yard at the right time of year w/ some Amdro or such and you won't have a problem w/ fire ants. |

Yes there are bugs here! It is funny how some people try and say it is not that bad. LOL! If you are from California like we are then it will be a problem. Living in Califronia is a luxury! The beautiful weather ,no humidity, and no bugs. Sure in California you may have a fly or nat or black ant on occasion but it is nothing to compare what Texas has. Californians don't know how good they got it. Except for the high price homes but you know the saying "you get what you pay for". Sure it is alot cheaper in Texas but there is a reason. People in Texas especially the Dallas Fort Worth area have the highest obesity rate then anywhere else in America. The reason is the weather and attitude of these people. You do not see people riding bikes, jogging playing sports etc like you do in Colorado, California, and other places and I think the weather and the bugs have alot to do with it. You just can not go outside and enjoy yourself like you can in other parts of the country.
