LOL, these are all funny!! For me I have never experienced the horror or silence of people when saying I want to move to Texas. The only thing EVERYONE says is "Do you know how hot it is there?"

There are really bad places to live in TX and really good ones, just like there are nearly everywhere else. It is really stupid to generalize about an entire state.

Or generalize a whole country, for that matter.

Curious though, example of a 'bad' area? I'm going to be new to Texas, so this interests me

Menard isn't wonderful either.

In general, the inner city parts of the big cities aren't too savory. But there are exceptions. As for what is "bad", it depends upon what you consider "bad".

Just please don't wear or allow your girl to wear boots with booty shorts or a skirt. It is not cute! I see it all the time and for some reason the girls think it is cute. It is not. LOL

I haven't gotten any "Why would you do that?" reactions to my moving to Texas either. But then I've mostly told people who know why I would.

That would be kind of funny, hereabouts. I can think of a few responses that would probably silence a local B & N clerk. They're true, too. They're not my prime motivations, but I could certainly justify -- for amusement value -- replying, "Because I have a custom Caspian .45 waiting for me there, I can have my concealed-carry permit in 6 months, and I won't get arrested for carrying a pocketknife that stays open for finger safety."

OTOH I managed to silence an entire dinner party by saying it seemed fairly clear there are some physical differences between human males and females. I just meant size dimorphism & reproductive organs and so on. The expressions of everybody at the table seemed indicative of a desire to teleport me out of state. Not sure why.
But perhaps Texas will suit.
(I don't really plan to carry my gun on my person in any real sense, but it is nice to know I can transport it to a shooting range in my car -- truck?-- without being jailed for years.)
