Hi there....I live on the other side of the lake, but I just thought I would add that you might want to make sure the drive to Arlington won't be too much for your husband. I'm not sure how long it would take in traffic, but I do't think that I personally would like to make that drive. I know you can get a lot for your money in Azle though.

My son went to middle school in Azle and graduated from Azle High School - if you have kids into band, they have one of the best HS Marching Bands in the state. The school itself has alot school spirit and does very well academically. The school system is wonderful - and my older son graduated from Birdville school district, so I do have something in which to make a comparison. My son now attends UNT and is in the Marching and there.

As far as Deer Ridge Estates goes - I live there - its wonderful, just be cognizant of who you get to BUILD your house. Moderator cut: no recommendations

I lived in Cattlebaron Parc a few years ago, and the Azle ISD TEA scores, at the time, were pretty bad (the Aledo ISD in the front part of Cattlebaron was preferred and exemplary).

There is also a dairy (the Smelley Dairy) just south that gives some powerful "winds" in the summer, and a landfill just east that was capped, but still had its "contribution" to our environment. While I did enjoy the wild deer/turkey visits, low taxes, large houses/lots, and 20 min. commute downtown; the smells and lack of services (couldn't even get a pizza delivered then), had me longing for NE Tarrant. So we eventually moved. It appears Azle ISD has improved since then, but I would buy Aledo before Azle. And I would avoid the city of Lake Worth if you can (although cruising the lake in a boat was nice in spots)...

I personally don't recommend Aledo over Azle because we have friends that live there and the taxes are considerably higher and the water considerably worse.
