As someone who just graduated from Crowley in 06, I wouldn't send my kids there. It use to be a nice school district about 10 years ago, but it's changed. They have some nice development off of 1187, but the older areas are getting more run-down. They've also built tons of low-cost apartments/projects around Sycamore School and Crowley Road, and all that feeds into Crowley. Here's how the demographic have changed over the past few years:

Crowley isd in 2000/01:
White: 61.4%
African American: 20.5%
Hispanic: 13.5%
Asian: 3.9%

Economically Disadvantaged: 18.6%

2004/05:
White: 46.4%
African American: 29.9%
Hispanic: 18.6%
Asian: 4.5%

Economically Disadvantaged: 29.8%

Default Crowley verses North Crowley

Fort Worth Police have now indicated their first evidence of gang activity in the NORTH Crowley middle schools. It is the North Crowley area that is changing dramatically in the last couple of years. Several of the elementary schools are now Title 1. The schools are over crowded because of the population growth of the past 5-7 years because it is popular. The new construction is in areas of North Crowley where the newer schools are being built but by the time the schools have been built, they are over crowded. We moved to North Crowley 7 years ago because of the reputation of the school system. We are moving out of North Crowley because of the changing neighborhood and school system.

Default Crowley

We live in a lovely house in Crowley. We moved to our new neighborhood 10 years ago because of the wonderful schools. In 10 years, there has been much construction of new neighborhoods -- a new neighborhood every time you turn around. And yes, there is section 8 housing here now. The schools are over-crowded and the streets, etc. have not kept up with the tremendous growth. Most of my friends are moving their kids to private schools this year because it has gotten so bad (gang type problems, etc.) We're trying to tough it out, but I'm sure we won't be able to hold out much longer before we too head for private school!

yes--Everman does have some big problems and not just in the school district--all that open land has drawn developers who are building housing and there is not really a good infrastructure to support all new people--some of that will inevitably spill over into surrounding area--no matter how it is named: Crowley, FTW or whatever...

CISD is a good district, even if the poor have come and brought their social problems. I am glad FWHA built nice communities for them to live in. Many section 8 voucher holders are good, working people. To escape gangs keep moving until you find utopia, when you find it, let us all know where it is. I am glad they are deconcentrating the poor from blighted areas where they have no hope. Teach your children right from wrong and to have compassion for others then maybe you won't have to run from the society that we all live in. Most school shooters aren't gang bangers, or poor minorities are they?

Quick run to Southlake where it is Heaven on Earth for the next 7 years until the poor people discover a way to live there.

Crowley has had problems for years in the schools, gang activity is a well known thing. I've lived in Burleson for 17-18 years and we hear the stories, they made the 10:00 news too. Of course, Burleson is changing too. Kids used to all have that shiny scrubbed, clean just off the farm face look, it's a different story for sure now. I don't know where these new people have come from. Now the schools around here have on duty cops in them. It is unreal. Don't count on the fact that the big nice homes guarantees a better class of people. Some of these homes can produce the meanest, thuggiest, kids you'll ever lay eyes on. The parents are both working, trying to keep up their livestyle and the kids just get left by the wayside. About the same as the trailer trash areas where the parents spend most of their time in the beer joints. Both classes of kids suffer and the results are pretty much similar.

I think anyone considering moving to Crowley ISD should know about how drastically the schools and parts of the community have changed in recent years. The most telling number is economically disadvantaged, which is now 38% according to greatschools.net. It's not a good sign that it has more than doubled this decade. You can interpret the numbers however you want, it's just something people should consider.
