Looking for a newer subdivision that is safe, will have strong resale due to good schools, has plenty of kids and kid activities, and is the best commute to South Ft Worth (say 20 and 35). Keller may not be so close, but I feel it ranks well on the safety and good schools. Thoughts on neighborhoods that are nice for the 250-300K range home. Am I limiting myself from other nice areas such as Lake Arlington area or others?

Keller to south Fort Worth is going to be a very long commute through heavy traffic. Mansfield and Burleson are MUCH closer!

Don't know much about Aledo or Burleson, but would rather be closer to DFW airport and family in mid cities and Dallas.

Keller's going to have better resale because it's "hot." Good schools, and right in the heart of where most of the growth is in Tarrant County.

Just keep in mind that you will be commuting to work 5 days a week, and maybe visiting family/friends one day a week. I'm betting you would rather spend more time with your kids at home than sitting in your car on i35...

No doubt. Any thoughts on Kennedale or Lake Arlington area? Both would make work commute very attractive. Again, I'd like to be in spot that still had plenty of kid's activities and was close enough to shopping, restaurants, etc. andof course be safe and have decent schools.

my 2 cents... I live in Heritage and it takes me 30-45 minutes to commute to 20 and 35 (Alcon). It's not terrible really, once you figure out the routes it's doable. We're probably not going to move because like you said the proximity to the airport, southlake, grapevine, and mid-cities is much better being in Keller than being all the way down in Mansfield or Kennedale. Also, the houses are much older and there are some run down neighborhoods in the area. Last, the schools are better rated in Keller.
So for the extra 15-20 minutes you'll have to drive I say it's worth the hassle

How bad would the drive be from Arlington, say 30 near 360? What are the nice neighborhoods in that part of town?
