Default Montesorri/Waldorf type Pre-schools?

We are moving to the area around TCU this summer and are looking for a good half-day program for our son who will be 2-and-a-half, so I can go back to teaching part-time. We are looking for a preschool that has a child centered curriculum, doesn't stick the kids in front of the TV, doesn't serve junky food, and accepts part-timers. I guess we are kind of neo-hippies, (well Texan hippies with jobs) and we want our sons pre-school to compliment the way we are raising him rather than conflict. We are also open to home daycare providers if we can't find a pre-school, so any suggestions are welcomed!

I don't know if this meets your requirements, but we have been thinking about enrolling my daughter in this, it would just be quite a haul for us. It would be in your neck of the woods and it looks like a really interesting program.

FWMSH - Museum School (http://www.fwmuseum.org/mus_school/index.html - broken link)

Anyway, something interesting

Edit: Just looked at it again after a few months and realized it is just one day a week program for two hours.

Post We're looking, too

There are several Montessori programs in the Fort Worth area, but most are pretty expensive - I don't know your budget, but they're out of our range. This place looks pretty promising, though....

I would suggest trying mamasource.com for the DFW area and asking that same question. You might get a bigger or better response.

My daughter attended Nature school at River Legacy in Arlington. It's more affordable than some of the other programs and very good, but only a few hours a week.

You might look at University Christian Church Weekday School or First United Methodist Preschool.

It's been a few years since I have been in those two, however they have been highly respected by those in the professional child care field for using age appropriate curriculum with close ties to the community and a great overall program.
