My husband and I are looking into a possible relocation to the DFW area and are going to visit this week to see what it's all about. We are wanting to live in a safe area that has great schools and lots of trees and greenery, etc. What suburbs of FW have mature trees and landscaping and a more lived-in feel? I would LOVE to be in a more historic home- the newer built communities just don't appeal to me as much, as everything is more cookie-cutter and the lots are smaller with no real landscaping and whatnot. TIA!

Is location to work or schools an issue? Shopping / entertainment?

I'm sure there are lots of places that fit the bill, but my wife and I recently moved to an older neighborhood in Keller (76262). We've got an acre lot, our street has no street lights, homes were all built in the late 80's, and it's filled with mature trees. I think we've got about 15 different types (the original owners couldn't decide what to plant, so they planted one of each!), including Pecan, oak, maple, and some others I haven't quite figured out yet!

Bit of a drive to downtown (40 minutes during rush hours), but only about 10 minutes from Southlake town square and Costco.
