We're moving back to FW after 7 years away. We found a home we love near Eagle Mountain Lake, but are concerned about accessibility to various things like doctors, grocery stores, and activities for our children. We homeschool them, but need to find a jujitsu studio and music lessons of various instruments. I'd also love to know if there is an active homeschool community close by. Thank you in advance for any help!

We are in the area and have no complaints As far as doctors and shopping, most of what you will need can either be found in the Saginaw area or Lake Worth area. There are even several doctors along Boat Club. There is a rumor that HEB is looking to build at the corner of Bailey Boswell and Boat Club, so that'll be a nice addition.

As far as activities for kids, there are quite a few youth sports organizations in the area. Northwest YMCA is off Boat Club (last year they offered a homeschool gym class, but not sure about this year). The Rec Center is Saginaw offers a good amount of classes. There are several sports leagues to choose from. Not quite sure about music lessons, as most of the lessons I've seen offered are private. I homeschool my youngest and this is really the first year we've looked into homeschool activities. I've been excited to see a pretty good selection when I've done a search online. Check out Koinos Homeschoolers...Karate, guitar, tennis, dance, and gymnastics are offered at a great price. It's all homeschool families and a great atmosphere to make new friends and find out more information about other activities in the area. I've also seen a homeschool group signup sheet at the Saginaw Library. Good luck on your decision!
