What Fort Worth suburbs would you say are comparable to the North & East suburbs of Dallas?

Looking for nice areas where I could buy a 2,200+ sq ft, 3 bed / 2 bath single family home for between 160 - 200K.

Any suggestions? Quiet newer developments (1995 - present) would be most desirable.

Thanks in advance.

Just off the top of my head, I would personally compare Southlake to Plano. I would compare Grapevine to Rockwall. I would compare Keller, Roanoke, and Colleyville to McKinney or Sunnyvale. Haltom City and Arlington are Garland and Mesquite. HEB is Richardson or Lewisville.

Granted, none of these suburbs are identical. I'm just matching loosely on the vibes or personality I get from different suburbs.

I agree with Ray. I grew up in Mesquite, but I now live in Grapevine, and my parents live in Rockwall, so it makes sense to me.

I will say your budget is too low for that size and age of a house unless you are willing to go all the way out to Keller, or to pick an area with marginal schools like Haltom City. If you would be willing to look at homes built since even 1985, you would find many more options in your price range.

Gotcha.

I know that prices have gone up about 10-15% within the past couple years. Still some great deals out there though.

Try a search for homes in the Birdville High School attendance area. Also try zip 76054.
