Yes change is a terrible thing. We should still have slaves and women should have never been allowed to vote. Funny, what you call that something special about your beloved Texas, others called ignorance, bigotry, racisim, sexism, homophobia, or just plain old redneck. The more people that move here with different ideas and a different way of thinking the better. I couldn't believe the things I heard come out of people's mouths when I moved to Fort Worth. So no need to worry, FW hasn't changed all that much..yet. Depending on your age, you probably have plenty of time to enjoy the Texas you loved so much.

You originally asked if FW is becoming liberal. Are you more concerned with TX the state or FW the city? If you've been to Austin, even though it's the state capital of a conservative state, it's a pretty liberal city.

Is Fort Worth going Liberal?
Does it matter ???
The way I see it, as long as this doesn't become a crime and drug infested hell hole, I'm happy.

How is the Fort Worth area in general? I really want a place with more conservative values and politics!
Do I need to get farther away from Dallas/FW?
Is Haslet far enough away?
In some ways I still need to stay near the big cities for the job factor, what areas would be a good compromise?
Appreciate any comments or suggestions. Thanks.

Coming from a conservative formerly living in SoCal I say that Fort Worth, Keller in particular is a welcome relief from the liberal world of SoCal. One of our reasons among many for moving to Texas was to be a in a more conservative environment.

I hope Fort Worth is becoming more liberal. Even though it's conservative, though, it is generally speaking fairly accepting and tolerant. We even allow Californians to move in (just kidding!).

Hey, what's wrong with liberals?
Anyways, Fort Worth is a bit more conservative than LA and Dallas, but the people shouldn't be too overly religious.

In a recent special election (12/18) to fill 2 vacated positions, Fort Worth elected it's first openly gay city councilperson and a Democrat captured a state representative seat in a Fort Worth district that had gone Republican for years. If one considers politics a good barometer, the city is definitely loosening up...
