Talking Question about Benbrook

My husband and I are considering moving to Ft. Worth. We have a deaf child who would likely be placed in a program at Waverly Elementary in Benbrook. This is where Tarrant County's school for the deaf is located.

Like everyone else, we would like to live in a nice, quiet, safe neighborhood, and have a commute of 30 minutes or less. Any suggestions on places to check out? Is Benbrook nice?

Also, where is a good place to search for jobs. I've tried on-line but see very little. I am in social/human services and my husband is in web-based training.

I would greatly appreciate any information you all could share.

Thanks so much!

We're building a home in Benbrook right now. We're actually closer to Aledo so we're in the country, but we travel to the city quite often. Every amenity we've needed we've been able to find here. The people are very friendly and the city is pretty clean.

As for the job search, my husband has been using sites like Monster.com and CareerBuilder.com.

Good luck!

Thanks so much for your reply, Barn Babe! Do you have any suggestions for builders? I've checked out some of the homes in the area but I think we would prefer to build. Are there decent rent homes in the Benbrook area? We would need to rent while building.

Any idea how the school district is? Or property taxes? What about the commute to the downtown area?

I don't mean to bombard you with questions but we currently live 5-6 hours away so we have a lot to learn. Thanks again for your help!
