We just moved up from CA to TX about 3 months ago. We are looking for property with a minimum of 3 acres so we can have horses. I have a few questions if anyone can help me out with info about parker county.
1. Can horse stables be attached to the house in Parker County? 2. What are the Taxes in Parker County? 3. How many horses per acer can you have? 4. Anything else you can tell me about Parker County that I might need to know would be great. We would like to buy cheap, so if anyone knows of some nice property ready for boarding horses, let me know... Thanks, traindisp |

I can't tell you what's allowed in Parker County, but in Texas, you generally don't want more than one horse per acre of land. That's just a good livestock management principle here. Also, you don't want you horse barn attached to your house. This is due to the potential for fire with grain and hay storage, and also for sanitary reasons. You'll be better to have the barn at least 100 feet away from the house.

Thanks ChristieP. Thats what I figured on the horse barn attached to the house. We found a place in Parker County that was attached, however I found it odd that they would have horse barn attached to the house myself. I would have thought it would be against some code or something like that.

10K per acre, home or no home, 4-5 acres, prefer with horse fencing, utility already in place, and owner financing... looking in parker county with easy commute to the 820... cheaper taxes is better.. want to stay out of Tarrant County...
