Here is a couple of nice winter pictures from last year at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens.
My daughter's husband proposed to her there with long stem roses laid out at the end of the path spelling "Will you marry me?" You can kind of see them in the top photo. She said yes.

I love looking at pics of other areas of the country. The one area of town where the pics were taken in the springtime looks like it's very nice. AND I love the pic of the water cascade. I was wondering if Ft. Worth had something like that because I just recently learned that Houston has beautiful water fountains and waterfalls. Do you have any palm trees in your area? If you do, pics would be great.

The pics I posted of the "water cascade" are from the Fort Worth Water Gardens. I'll probably go check them out tonight to show them to an out-of-town friend who is in town.
There are no "wild" palm trees, but there are some private yards that have palm trees. I know of one tree nursery that sells them.

Thank you, all, for posting these. I'm considering moving to Texas, not sure yet (job-thing). I've always asked people if Texas had green, lush parts and they'd kind of hedge and not quite answer or say the usual answer: oh, Austin (or Tyler). I always had a hunch there was more green there than just 2 cities. Thx. again.

Am I the only one who can't see these pics? I wanted to see the roses!

The FW Water Gardens are just beautiful. I love going there. There are several small pools and other water cascades in there. Did y'all know that part of the movie Logan's Run was filmed there? I think another movie may have used it in their shots but I can't remember which one.

I showed the FWWG to that friend, who thought it was pretty neat. We were there around dusk and I was surprised to not see many others out there. The weather was pretty decent.

I live in Northlake, near Justin.

This is a pond near my home.

This is a picture of a sunset taken from our back porch.
