We went to Denton this afternoon for 4pm movie and dinner on the square with our son and his wife--
coming home traffic on 114 E to 121S to 183 was nuts--the 360 Southbound entrance off 121 in Grapevine was blocked off because of accident on that overpass (for one example)...
we probably saw 5 wrecks on various sides of traffic--none thankfully that close to us--
We don't usually drive that way that late (around 10pm) so I don't know if that is usual but we just thought it was excessive number...

There was no construction going on--so that wasn't a problem like it has been in past--

any explanations or insights--

we went that way vs going down 26 or using Carroll to 26 from 114 to get to home in Hurst because we thought it would be faster and less trouble--not exactly what we encountered...

Just the Metromess traffic. More people coming to DFW than the roads can handle. That is why we just moved out of Denton. Just gotten too big and too congested for us.

Unfortunately you are correct. And a lot of them do not have the courtesy to consider a 4-way stop a reason to stop!
We are looking to get out of Haslet but have to stay close to Alliance. Nothing!!!

This was the FREEWAY--no four way stops--and no where near Denton or Haslet...

I thought it might be because there was a football game letting out around that time and put bolus of cars on the freeway at same time...

or thought it might be because people are still unfamiliar with the new interchanges and there is just not enough decent lighting in areas for clarity...

I think you are right about the game causing delays. We met another family at CM Southlake Fri night and I forgot to check the game schedule- last time I do that. Dragons were playing at home and playing Trinity, so it was a MESS on 26 and surrounding.

Now, heading home we did fine taking 26 S because the game wasn't over yet.

Re the 360S exit from 121 in Grapevine--
my husband read news story Saturday or Sunday that said a young woman had gone onto that ramp and her car stalled/stopped...
she was on the road trying to direct cars from hitting hers and was herself struck and killed...

That was very sad to hear about--don't know wny she didn't just use her flashers and get away from the car...
don't use that exit enough to know how wide it is---if there is any sort of pull-over lane...

People are driving way too fast on those new areas and there is not good enough lighting to allow you to see any distance in front--
