Hello to all!
So we are finally here and staying in Grapevine!
My daughter attends GMS and loves it. We love the area and the fact that I'm so close to Dallas and FW for my visits to the medical districts.
My son goes to Northlake college for this year before he transfers to UT Austin.
I got a really good job and my husband is actively looking for the restaurant location.
Ok, so the question I have for you all is that we are now looking at the different areas where to buy a home. We want to stay at the GCISD or Carroll and we are looking at Grapevine, Colleyville and Euless for the most part. The question is about the schools in Euless. Specifically , the JR that feeds into Trinity HS and Trinity HS. How do they compare to GCISD?
We visited a new area by 360 and Midway and liked a model and found the perfect lot but we are not too sure about the schools , the resale value if we need to move for some reason and the surrounding areas.
My daughter always attended catholic schools back in Chicago so a little apprehensive as you can imagine. she is in all AP classes at GMS now and doing good.
I know some people that live in Euless from my daughter's soccer team but when we visited the Kroger close to the new area I didn't like what I saw really.
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks!

Harwood Jr High is better than Euless jr high and feeds into Trinity
I taught at Bell--think its IB program is stronger than Trinity's--think going IB you can get as good education as at Carroll or GCISD--but that is just my take

consider your driving time--and where your husband will likely locate the restaurant--

some areas of Euless are more blue collar than others and definitely more sketchy--even north of Airport Frwy

Glad you made it to Grapevine!!

Is a new home a must? There are very few places in this area with new construction, so you are limited. You could get an existing home for the same money in a well established neighborhood with GCISD schools for the same money.

I know that Kroger, and I don't go there, either. My husband calls it the "icky Kroger." It is reflective of that neighborhood, as there are a lot of older, small homes, and quite a few apartments.

I think you will just have to decide if a new house is worth pulling your daughter out of GMS and making her start over finding a peer group. There are good schools all over DFW but there is a reason the market is hottest in the areas with the best school districts that contain moderately priced houses (Coppell, Southlake/Carroll, Richardson esp as well as Grapevine/Colleyville, Flower Mound and Plano). Some people decide they want the brand- new house more than the highest quality public education and that is certainly their prerogative.

Thank you
My daughter's soccer coach works at Trinity HS and that's the only reason why we started looking in that area also because we heard good things about that school.
Yes, we are concidering everything.

Yes we are primarily looking in the established areas because of the schools and accessibility to the freeways and areas where the business may be and like I said we were not very impressed with they area of Euless.

The only reasons I could think of why someone would choose Trinity HS over GHS or CHHS would be their state champion football program, or the IB program. Aside from those factors, there's not much special about it.
