Very blue collar area. Lots of trees. Mostly older homes. Not good public schools. Terrible water. Some good hole in the wall restaurants. Can't speak to safety with specific numbers but there is lots of low income housing there, so that tells you something. Nothing is sticking out as being terrible as far as past crimes other than my parents said never ever let a boy drive you out to Lake Worth when I was a teen in the 90s. Very close to the JRB so no, not quiet with all the jets in and out of there. But not a terrible area by any means.

City-Data doesn't have any crime statistics posted on the Sansom Park profile page, but I did locate that information on the FBI's Uniform Crime Reports website. Here's the numbers since 2010:

Violent Crimes
2010 - 11 (1 Murder, 0 Rapes, 3 Robberies, 7 Aggravated Assaults)
2011 - 14 (0 Murders, 0 Rapes, 2 Robberies, 12 Aggravated Assaults)
2012 - 5 (0 Murders, 1 Rape, 0 Robberies, 4 Aggravated Assaults)
2013 - 11 (0 Murders, 1 Rape, 4 Robberies, 6 Aggravated Assaults)

Property Crimes
2010 - 112 (43 Burglaries, 63 Thefts, 6 Auto Thefts)
2011 - 143 (57 Burglaries, 75 Thefts, 11 Auto Thefts)
2012 - 116 (59 Burglaries, 43 Thefts, 14 Auto Thefts)
2013 - 132 (61 Burglaries, 58 Thefts, 13 Auto Thefts)

I used those figures to calculate Sansom Park's per capita crime rates, listed below, compared to state and national crime rates:

Violent Crimes per 100,000 population
2010 - Sansom Park: 259.3 / Texas: 448.4 / US: 404.5
2011 - Sansom Park: 292.6 / Texas: 408.6 / US: 387.1
2012 - Sansom Park: 102.9 / Texas: 408.6 / US: 387.8
2013 - Sansom Park: 229.0 / Texas: 399.8 / US: 367.9

Property Crimes per 100,000 population
2010 - Sansom Park: 2640.3 / Texas: 3766.8 / US: 2945.9
2011 - Sansom Park: 2988.5 / Texas: 3483.2 / US: 2905.4
2012 - Sansom Park: 2386.3 / Texas: 3363.1 / US: 2868.0
2013 - Sansom Park: 2747.7 / Texas: 3258.2 / US: 2730.7

In general, Sansom Park's violent crime rate is well below state and national averages. The property crime rate is lower than the state average and close to the national average.

I hope this helps. You can find additional information on the city website at http://sansompark.org/
