Woohoo! Nice link.
I find it funny that there are still "Entering Fort Worth" signs around the city's border that indicates population of 417,xxx. Maybe they'll replace them once FW crosses the 1 million population mark.

Fort Worth is definitely on the map for reasonable cost of living, safety, good (read non-corrupt) politicians, amenities, and just a great place to live. This city rates five stars in my book.
That's a huge leap from just 10 years ago! Way to go Fort Worth!

Welcome!
What part of Ft Worth are you considering mojomum? It's a vast piece of real estate! I live just northeast of Ft Worth in Trophy Club. I'm familiar with the ISDs in the surrounding area... Keller ISD, Northwest ISD, Southlake ISD. All are top-notch school districts and you really can't go wrong.
But again... Ft Worth is pretty big. Can you pin down your area a bit? Will you be interested in being close to a job? I'm sure you'll get all sorts of great advice on both schools and specific neighborhoods!

It won't go around Downtown Ft Worth. That stretch was proposed but later cancelled because of protests by some of the locals. Once the Southwest Parkway (new State Highway 121 Toll) is finished, northbound exiters will have to go on to I-30, then head eastward to I-35W. Then they'll rejoin State Highway 121 east of downtown. It's a shame it ended up like this because we could have had some really good access to downtown destinations, State Highway 199, the Stockyards, and the new Uptown development, not to mention alternate access in case 30 is backed up, but that's the way the ball bounces.

Eh, that just means that the toll road will turn out to be a failure if drivers have to pay a toll and still go through all those highway exits and entrances.
Speaking of Rt. 199 (Jacksboro Hwy.), is there any plan to expand it or at least get rid of a few traffic lights and make it a 50 MPH road? As it is, there's too many traffic lights and it can take 20+ min. to go 6 mi. between Lake Worth and downtown during the day.

.......what do ya think of this?
This design was made by a 14 year old. It looks about 58 stories.
Yes or no for downtown?

^ Wow, that looks interesting. That kid will put highly paid architects out of business! At 58 stories, it would far surpass any other building there and would stand out, right? Maybe that's not a bad thing.

I got a new Idea for the city flag.....
Red rectangular top....
White rectangular middle....
Blue rectangular bottom....
"FORT WORTH" in white, Times Roman font for the Red rectangle on top....
"TEXAS" in white, Times Roman font for the Blue rectangle on the bottom....
In the white rectangle in the middle, there's an 18 on the left side and a 49 on the right side to represent the 1849, the year Fort Worth was established.
And finally, in the middle of the whole flag, there's a black longhorn head (like the old flag), only this longhorn looks like the current longhorn head you see on today's Texas flag.
This flag pays homage to the old blue, white, and green flag with the black longhorn in the middle. Only the colors are now red, white, and blue (for Texas) and the modenized longhorn head represents Fort Worth's future withe the "1849" honoring the city's past...... and I designed it!
Man, I wish I could show you because I just printed it out and everything. As soon as I figure it out, I'll show you.
