Ha, so true. I'm not one of the Big Mac and Diet Coke kind anyways. Why drink a coke if your making it diet? Don't people realize how much worse the diet coke is anyways?

We actually have a food eating routine at the fair. We start with the tator twisters near the back of the fair and then walk for awhile. We end up at Big Tex for a corn dog followed by the bird show. This is followed by a trip to the VitaMix booth so we can get new ideas on what to make in the vitamix, yes we own one. After that we really don't eat too much more unless there is something new and interesting in the fried contest category. We skipped on last years new offering but this year we are intrigued by the chicken fried bacon. Of course, you can't eat too much at the fair anyways since it's so expensive.

One disappointment from last year...in the food and fiber bldg where they do the meat, honey and sell milk...they didn't have the free roll last year. Those things were so yummy, has anyone tried one of those before??

It looks like you got the routine down! I plan to eat lunch just before going to the fair and then either eat dinner there, or just munch on some junk snacks and then eat dinner somewhere in Dallas. The weather should be great on Fri. - looking forward to it.

Rumor is circulating in the family that we're going to the fair on Tuesday. Woo Hoo!!

Now I just need the family to be healthy. I'm tired of the sniffles, sneezes, blowing noses and sore throats.

Nice, have fun! I'm getting over a cold myself. But I plan to be at the fair tomorrow.

I hear a lot of people say that. I never really liked the taste of diet coke or diet anything for that matter. As time progressed for me I even stopped drinking coke and moved on to dr. pepper. Fast forward to now and I only mainly drink water, tea, sprite or root beer.

One thing I've never liked is Pepsi.

I went to the state fair on Fri. It was pretty good and not overly crowded. Since I went w/ a party of 5, we weren't as mobile as when I went last year with a party of 2. We mostly checked out the auto show and the light show at the end. I didn't have any fried crap, but did enjoy a German fajita (I kid you not!). It was rather good. Hope you folks had a great weekend.

I went to the Fair this past Saturday. But we weren't there for the Fair, exactly. We were there for Gramblin' State and PV. We were excited too, because Prairie View (my school) was undefeated (for the first time since like, 1968).

We were up 9-0 in the first few minutes and I felt a victory comin'..... but I guess PV remembered they were playing Grambling and lost...... again..... for the 20-something strait time.

....Oh well. We had a good time.

^ That's too bad your school lost, but at least you had a good time. I wish I got to the fair earlier. We got there a little before 5 and left a little after 8. I wanted to spend at least 4 hours there, but my friends were anxious to hit Lower Greenville for dinner and drinks afterward. (Plus, we had to go to someone's hotel and pick up his g/f.) We spent most of our time at the fair in the auto show part. They basically had American, Japanese, and Korean cars there. No German or exotic cars.

Thanks for reminding me about the game. I wanted to go on youtube and see if I could find the half time show and watch it.

We conquered the fair yesterday. We saw pretty much everything but we missed some of the exhibits. It seems no matter how long you are there you still don't get to see all of it. I'd say we did pretty good though considering there was 10 of us and 5 of the 10 were kids.
