^ Those look pretty nice. I wonder how much they'll cost per sq. ft. There's a lot of commercial expansion going on in FW. Right by Ridgmar Mall, there's new construction. And then by Loop 820 in Lake Worth, they've cleared out land and just started pouring concrete earlier this week. In a couple years, this city will be pretty built up. You're right - we're just missing some real skyscrapers in downtown.

On Fort Worthology, there was a blog comparing us to Portland, OR.
Here it is. ( WARNING: It's a little anti-New York )
I think this city is more focused on street level/small highrise development.... which is ok, but I still want to build up a little more. One thing's for sure, we have a long way to go.....
Anyway, those condos are scheduled to start construction in the fall of this year.

Anyone know if there are plans in the works to make SH 199 (Jacksboro Hwy) into a NW freeway? It just makes sense to me, considering all the growth that is taking place in northwest Tarrant county and beyond towards Springtown.

I don't know, but I wish Jacksboro Hwy was a freeway going from Lake Worth to downtown FW. As it is, there are way too many traffic lights.

From what I've seen driving through, you don't want to be stopped for too long on 199 inside the Loop. A freeway here makes perfect sense, at least from Loop 820 to downtown.

Yes, Rt. 199 in that part is a bit rundown. I was scared one night to fill up on gas there, but I survived it. It's a shame the area looks beat up b/c the golf course in that area is very pretty - at least from what I see of it from the street.

Man, I posted this huge comment/reply about some of the potential pitfalls of going the Portland route, and the anti-spam system (where you type in the characters in the image) wasn't showing the image so I could enter the characters. I lost a great 15-minute essay!
