DOWNTOWN NEWS:
XTO (the company that was planning a 50 story tower where the Landmark Tower once stood) is now planning a new building next to the ITC. As it's described, it won't be very big, but it will be a nice fill in to an area of downtown that has nothing but open space.
This is the article from Fort Worthology.

Good to hear. Looking forward to it! Actually, I'll be walking that way shortly ... making my way toward Sundance Square.

JJG, do you know what is being constructed on the corner of 6th and Houston in downtown? It's diagonally across "The Library" bar.

There's a whole pile of dirt dug out. I'll monitor it periodically since I'm often in SS.

Here's a rendering of the new building on 7th & Calhoun.
Also from Fort Worthology, the old T&P Warehouse (you know, that extra long building right next to I-30 and right next to the old post office) will be converted into (what else?) apartments. It will be apart of a bigger redevelopment project which will feature retail, parking, office space, and a hotel. Here are the renderings.
Floor Plan:
To see more development visit Fort Worthology. I'm lovin' this site more and more everyday .

^ Thanks for the update. That's looking pretty good. I hope the other construction projects in downtown turn out well (i.e. modern buildings rather than construction that looks from several decades ago).

STREETCAR UPDATE:
The SSC has selected routes for the starter system.
This map shows the basic routes (not exactly clear, but this shoud be it).
The Streetcar Study Committee will present this to City Council.

^ Cool, but it won't really affect me since I live in the NW part of town. : \
I'm surprised it doesn't go up to the Stockyards and LaGrave field.

Well these are just the starter routes. Eventually, the Stockyards, N. Main, TCU, Six Points, and other parts of the city will get their own routes.
This system will begin.... the only question now is, when do we start tearin' up the streets?
