Is Fort Worth County living only????
I'm at a toss up between relocating to Fort Worth or Dallas.
I'd like to learn if it is or not so I'm asking on here.
I saw people over in the Dallas section on this board say that Fort Worth is Very Laid back & Country living...is that true?
Which parts of Fort Worth are quicker paced & more city living (but in good neighborhoods)?
Thanks Kindley.

I assume you mean "country" instead of "county"? Anyway, there are parts of Tarrant County (the county in which Ft Worth resides and is the county seat of) that are NOT laidback. Southlake, Irving, Arlington, etc are just a few examples. And they are NOT "country". Arlington = country....... LMAO!!! Not even. Ft Worth itself in the downtown area does give off a more "rustic, western" feel that Dallas does not. But hey, even a councilman from Dallas is after Dallas to be more like Ft Worth downtown in that FTW is lit up w/ lots of lights all over downtown and Dallas is not. Some parts of downtown Dallas are pitch black at night. As for the "country" feel of Ft Worth, it is more in the laid back attitudes, decor and themes you see around. You are not going to see large ranches or farms all over and around Ft Worth.

Actually, the whole metroplex is JUST LIKE the tv show Dallas. Everybody is an oilman/oilwoman, we drive cars with longhorns adorning the front end, and brothers/sisters go about getting at the family fortune; many people are killed over land and oil rights..
Just Joking!
momof2 has it right. Fort Worth is a little more laid back than Dallas, but it's not country living with ranches in the city limits.

Country living at it's best
Let's see-I can hop in my car and in 15 minutes be at the mall, just about any speciality store you can think of, a private university, a community college, an array of private, christian and public education choices, a first class art museum, any type of workout facility you could imagine, great biking and walking trails, a state of the art hospital and medical facilities, libraries, recreational lakes, any type of cusine you could imagine....30 minutes in the car and I feel like the world is at my fingertips!! Moving here from a truly big city with nightmare traffic (Houston) , I honestly cannot think of why anyone would choose Dallas over Fort Worth. The only thing I have ever heard Fort Worth lacks is a progressive music scene/ nightlife for young adults.

Mom thanks for the information!! I know that in my 20 days that I have stayed in the area during the last two seeking trips, that is what I found just in my brief observance. I really appreciate hearing it from someone that lives there.
I know for us, we want room to breathe, but have some good convenience with home town values and neighbors!

Hi, ya'll!
I was living in Fort Worth for 2 months in very next to Fossil Creek. I visited in Fort Worth downtown, Keller, Grapevine, Dallas downtown, Plano, etc. I'm coming from Finland (old world) so, sorry about my bad language. In point of foreigner view I'm pretty impressed about the living in Fort Worth.
I found that the FW is fastly growing what comes to population. Comparing previous year there was at least 100 000 more inhabitant. Naturally, it reflects straight to the quantity of the traffic. Almost all cars are equipped with HUGE motor (comparing cars of old world), so the pollution will also increase shoulder by shoulder with traffic. My car runs 50miles/gallon, so I can pass many gas-stations.
I saw pretty many new subdivisions (residental areas?) and it's truly fast growing area!
In all, can't complain. I liked the atmosphere and the temperature (july)
Thank you Dallas/FW for the nice experience, I will come back!!
