My company was bought and I might need to relocate for work to Grapevine. The office is near Minters Chapel Road and Hanover Drive. Can somebody suggest an area that might be a good fit - I am a 41 year old single/no kids female with one 25 lb dog. I have never been to TX except but I would obviously visit before accepting the position.

I am very active - like to run/bike, just walk around. Prefer to walk to do errands and use my car as little as possible. Like to try new restaurants, live music, comedy, go to the gym, yoga. I also really like nature and hiking but I was told that is hard to come by in Dallas.

A friend thought Uptown would be a good fit, except for the commute. Irving was suggested as a "compromise." (Not sure what my friend meant by a "compromise.") Any suggestions? I would be renting and budget is $1800 or less for one bedroom.

That office location is on the edge of DFW airport just off 114.

Uptown Dallas has what you want, but the commute is going to be lengthy.
The Las Colinas area of Irving is halfway in between Uptown and Grapevine, but it doesn't fit all of your wants.
Grapevine itself has some new loft style apartments in the downtown area, but there's not much yoga or nightlife. Grapevine does have nice hiking and nature areas near Lake Grapevine.

Thanks. Just out if curiosity since I have no idea about commute times in Dallas, how long of a commute would it be to the area from where the office is to Las Colimas in Irving and from Uptown?

Thanks!

I also posted in this forum since it appeared to have more threads on Grapevine.

That part of Grapevine from Las Colinas would be about 20 minutes. I make the opposite drive every day.
Uptown will be at least double that since its twice as far, but I'm not sure about the traffic patterns.

Thanks! I don't consider 40 minutes a lengthy commute actually - if it really was 40 minutes most days! Thanks again.
