We are looking to relocate to the area for a job Around SE Loop 820 and 35w . Looking for and area that will be easy commute and good high school to rent a house at first. Would like have outdoor recreational areas to walk and ride bike. Was looking at Mansfield area and was wondering what the commute time would be during rush hour coming from that direction. Any help with information would be greatly appreciated. We are looking for around a 20 min or less commute if possible. Also we would like a neighborhood with a little bit of space. All the houses we have seen for rent seem to be in neighborhoods that houses sit on top of each other without privacy. Also would like a newer construction area if possible. Love the small town feel but with the big town amenities.

Just so you know, that's a pretty rough part of Fort Worth. You'll probably want a longer commute so you can live in a safer area with good schools. Mansfield would be great, but I'm not sure about the commute time. Yes, suburban areas in DFW usually have small lots. You'd need to look in a rural area for larger lots.

What's your budget for a rental house?

Depending on your budget you might look around Martin high school in Arlington. That area is close to Veterans Park which has a bike loop, a disc golf course, and wooded walking trails. You even see people riding their horses in the park sometimes. Newer construction on a large lot will be quite expensive or much further out than you want to be.

More space....maybe Haslet, Justin, Ponder, Northlake.
Depends on your budget.
Tough to know what newer means to you, but chances are most homes for rent will be 10 years old or older.
There are exceptions, but not so many investors today buy new homes to rent out.

As the homes get newer it also seems the lots get smaller.

Mansfield I'm guessing might be a 30 minute drive. Good choice, but you will have some drive.
You could look out towards Weatherford too. Hudson Oaks, Weatherford, Willow Park

If you decide on Mansfield, the best high school is the original Mansfield HS.

Dang, I live in the Marine Creek area and feel my development, Trailwoods, is a peaceful enclave six miles from the city.

Rough? Unsafe? We've never had a problem with violence. A few petty thefts in UNLOCKED cars.

Must be a desirable place to live, a house on a corner lot was put on the market Friday, 22 Sep, when I went by yesterday on the way home from work 25 Sep and the signed had a "pending contract" notice affixed to it.

Guess someone wants to live here.

I have great, mind-your-own-business neighbors and we all get along.

Check the OP's post
You are not in the same area--
Job is. SE 820 and I 35---that is south of you on the north loop
More like Everman...

OP==you might check Burleson--rural/farming/ranch area has grown in past 10 yrs--
And it would be fairly easy drive north to 820/35

West side of Arlington in Martin HS zone almost might be doable

Hurst/NRHills area is safe and has decent schools in Birdville/HEB ISDs
Price is always a factor and you didn't mention that

Silverviny, were you able to find what you were looking for?

As one of the comments said, North Richland Hills would be a good location if you are looking for a little bit larger lots. There are neighborhoods where homes are a little older, but the lots provide a lot of charm, and it's in a good school district. Unfortunately, it's tough to get a newer home with more lot size in DFW, unless you have a pretty hefty budget.

I'd stay away from arlington. While there are some nice areas, overall Arlington is one of the more crime ridden areas of the metroplex.

Good luck with your search!
