Last May our daughter received a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder from the Center for Autism and Developmental Diagnostics. The gave us a link for a page on their site of providers for the therapies needed. The problem is that there are literally hundreds (it's over 26 pages long) providers in the DFW area.

We've gone to see one facility, and there were obvious problems (the person who ran the place, who was english 1st language speaking, had great difficulty with basic english proficiency. That wasn't the only problem) so we chose to seek elsewhere. The second place made it impossible to speak with the admissions person on the phone. We played phone tag for over a week, then I gave up and moved on.

My point is, that trying to find a place that demonstrates competence and professionalism has proven elusive so far. I'm currently working on a getting set up with another facility, and am having to jump through what seem like an absurd series of hoops just to be able to get an assessment from them, which is required by the insurance company. You don't tour the facility or meet with them first, you just go straight to a 200.00 assessment.

I am hoping someone here has experience with this and can tell me how I might vet a potential facility, or can recommend some possible places in the DFW area. We're in Arlington, so I'm hoping to keep the drive reasonable. Trying to find online reviews for places hasn't proven helpful thus far.

Thanks
