Default Moving to Fort Worth this summer what are the best schools?

We will be moving to fort worth this summer. Husband will be working at Carswell. Wanted to check out the schools and then look at housing around the good schools. Price for housing no more than 400,000. Was also looking at a house with some land. thanks

Eagle Mountain/Saginaw ISD. VERY GOOD schools. And if you're looking at a home for no more than 400,000, well pretty much anything within driving distance to the bas is within that range! A very nice new neighborhood is Creekwood off of Bailey Boswell and Blue Mound Rd(F.M. 156). And if you want a little bit of land go a little farther north to Haslet, lots of nice homes there. But, IMO EMSISD is one of the best. Stay away from Lake Worth ISD and FWISD, horrible ratings and test scores. Keller ISD also has good schools.

Default thank you mattman3seven

Thank you for your help. There are so many school districts, you just don't know which are good. I will look into these areas that you gave me and see if I can find any housing or land.

What's "Very Good" about Saginaw ISD?

It has an "acceptable" district rating. It has no campuses rated exemplary and no middle school or high school campuses rated recognized.

Actually, both Saginaw Elementary and Eagle Mountain Elementary are Recognized, so they aren't horrible. There are quite a few "Exemplary" schools in Keller ISD, but that district has been having some growing pains as of late due to increased development.

Check out greatschools.net to get an idea of each district and the local schools. Also when you drive neighborhoods, as people you see out about the local schools. Most people will be extremely helpful.

Good luck to you in your search!

Check out Westlake Academy. We toured it and were very impressed---however you have to live in Westlake to get guaranteed admittance. It's a charter school.....

good to hear that you liked Westlake Academy. Did you have a chance to tour Vaquero?

What were your thoughts?

Actually, Fort Worth ISD has several schools that do very well. Tanglewood, Benbrook & a couple of other elementary schools in west FW are schools I'd send my own children to. Paschal H.S. & Arlington Heights H.S. are the best high schools. Diamond Hill Jarvis High School, surprisingly, was named one of the best 100 public high schools in the country, but it's definitely not a neighborhood I'd want to live in.
