Default Employment in North Ft. Worth, Living in Keller?

I may be accepting a position with a company located in north Ft. Worth (Mercantile Drive North), and would like to be situated within a 5-to-15 (five-fifteen) miles distance, to ease commuting time. The firm is located near the junction with Meachem Blvd., with the NE Loop 820 Highway to the north, bordered on the west by 35 West (North Freeway).

I'd like to find accommodation in Keller, as I prefer a smaller suburban setting, with a population under 50,000, as opposed to a more urbanised city. Since I would be relocating from out-of-state, by myself, for the purpose of employment, (my wife and family will remain in our home, and I'll fly back to visit every six weeks or so) I don't have to be concerned about the ISD tax issues or quality of the local schools, etc.

I would require either a condo/apartment or houseshare situation (one bedroom and a bath), with the monthly rental amount ranging between $400 to $600 maximum, with utilities included. I'd like something fairly close to amenities, eg. grocery shops, retail shops, restaurants, etc., but in a good neighbourhood. Any help in pointing me in the right direction as far as names of recommended areas/neighbourhoods in Keller, would be greatly appreciated. Also any areas to avoid in Keller would be helpful as well, eg. names of apartment complexes that don't have a savoury reputation!

Thank you in advance for your comments/suggestions, as it can be daunting re-locating to a new area from out-of-state. I would like to make an informed - and intelligent - decision, keeping in-mind the traffic commute patterns north of the Ft. Worth area and my possible new work location!

Connkid

There are some nice apartements in Keller and North Richland Hills. ( I don't know about price)
In Keller there are ones right off of 1709 that are by the Tom Thumb shopping area.
There are some others off of North Tarrant Road and rufe snow (close to the Kroger shopping center on Rufe snow) Both of these are in nice safe areas.

In Norht Richland Hills there is a new development near the Hurst sports park wiht stores and resturants etc..right there. (see thread titled... NRH what to do...)

edit...
Names... Grand Residences in Keller, The Art house in Keller and Dominion at town Center in Keller. They are all nice.

you won't find a decent apt for 400 a month, maybe not even 600--in that area
Fossil Creek just north of 820 has nice apts but they are more expensive
and you will have to pay for utilities -- water electric and maybe gas--

but North Richland Hills, Hurst, Bedford, Saginaw (don't know about the apartment situation) Wautaga are all town that are within your perimeter

you might try these two places I found on google maps just asking for apts at that location
Haltom City Apartments at Amesbury Court
Southeast - Fort Worth, TX Apartments and Rentals - The Horizons at Fossil Creek

Fossil Creek area is nice. There are theather, golf course, restaurants, gym, hotels, and many new apartments. They look very nice and some of them have golf course view, city view, or creek view. The guy we met the other day said he pays $1150 for 2 BR golf course view unit. We don't know how much they charge for 1 BR or studio...but, since this area is newer and more expensive, you may want to check out some other area. Maybe Saginaw, North Richland Hills or Haltom City. They are close to your work location.

Look on Craig's List for "Roommates Wanted." I agree that you're not going to find an apartment that cheap in the Keller area. Haltom City will have places that cheap, but PLEASE be careful as they also have some pretty rough neighborhoods!

and personally I think it is very risky to think of finding a roommate on Craig's list
